Simply disappointing. We came recommended and excited by some press articles listing good restaurants in the province with no Michelin stars, and also to celebrate a birthday. The place is amazing with a pool as well, and a wonderful park where you can eat or walk under the pines. However, the staff was cold and not welcoming. The proprietor (a woman) was very cold. Once we decided what dishes to order, we asked them to take our order, then we discovered that what we had ordered had been sold. The surprise came later when we saw this same dish on other tables that came next to us. This was not the only error, after ordering a salad with arugula, Parmesan and strawberries, my wife did not fin...
We came to celebrate a birthday, and the food was truly delicious. The place is amazing with a pool as well, and a wonderful park where you eat under the pines. However, the staff was cold and not welcoming. The proprietor (a woman) was simply awful. Did not say hello, did not say goodbye and looked at us as if we were not welcome. The problem with these places is that if the staff isn't nice, the time you spend there (even though food and place are great) doesn't leave you with a good impression.
We visit Els Cacadors whenever we come to Macenet. Our last visit was two years ago and the food is still consistently good, especially the watermelon gazpacho with gambas. Everyone in our group of friends has enjoyed their meals here. Please visit and have both traditional and modern takes on Catalan food.
We started the day off in hot summer sun by the time we arrived at Els Cacadors it was wet, stormy and very cold. But we were made to feel welcome, fed delicious croquetas and dumplings followed by an excellent paella washed down with an excellent local red wine. Well chosen wine list, menu well balanced. We were recommended by some friends, and the experience did not disappoint us, the excellent service, the very interesting offer of meats and fish, and the framework in the garden where we ate irrepetible. the wine letter not being a novel, is very correct
