"It is the typical corner pub where you stand on the Thresen and for the evening a few beers with its neighbors are admitted. The food is quite simple but plentiful at home cooking. The location is also favorable if you are exhausted from shopping in Saturn and need a resurrection before you go home."

We continue our small city tour – my buddy and I – through the new town of Nord from the Agnes district. At first we passed the Balthasarstraße to the Kasparstraße past “Metzger Marie” a restaurant with a decent German and Austrian cuisine. Then we moved to Krefelder Straße. There we stopped at the Catholic church of St. Gertrud. The decline of the popular churches is accompanied by the disappearance of the popular parties. There are fewer and fewer priests and therefore the churches are becoming bigger and bigger. Here are four churches belonging to a municipality: St. Agnes the second largest church in Cologne, St. Kunibert and St. Ursula two great Romanesque churches in the rank of a basi...

Wandering around this part of town my twin brother Stephen and I chanced upon this superb pub and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a traditional authentic German pub, wood panelled walls, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a great place to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday night, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, as we had just ate we were here only for beers, a very pleasant member of staff served us a beer each,we opted to have a Gaffel Kölsch beer each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in th...

With a party of 5 we went for an after work drink. We ended up in this cafe/restaurant close to the office. Starting with a couple of Kolsch (beers). We wanted to have some food as well and the menu is offering a variety of German dishes. Seems that Wednesday is a special day for Reigebrot. Keep it in mind, it sounds good. The Schnitzels comes with a proper salad, to be eaten first before the main meal arrives. Good place to go for a decent meal in a nice atmosphere.

Found this place right next to our hotel, lovely traditional pub, the food was simple but fantastic, I had the schnitzel which was freshly made to order. The beer was the cheapest we found all weekend, around €3-4 for a franziskaner wheat beer. Great find would definitely recommend and return to if in Cologne again.
