I visited here with a friend for lunch and had the Special for $7.95 but upgraded to include the Dessert and I had to pay an extra $3 for the Aussie Topping on my Schnitzel which included an egg. We began our meal with Soup and fresh bread rolls, however I did have to ask at the bar for Soup Bowls and Spoons as there were none provided at the Soup/Salad/Veg bar and had to quickly return and have one of the spoons replaced as I was given a large Serving Spoon instead of a Soup Spoon. The Soup was Cream of Vegetable and on a really cold day the warm soup was appreciated however it could have done with more seasoning. I ordered the Aussie Schnitzel and my Lunch Partner ordered...

I have been going here for over 20 years and remember when the staff and Chef use to be helpful and accommodating. Not recently. The manager is more concerned about her little skirt than pleasing customers. I requested my favourite dish that I found out once served to me they had changed. I asked the manager to change the spiced chicken for the normal chicken that has been in the dish for years only to be told that there would be a $9.50 charge. I asked for a refund and the manager said - not my fault it's the chef. Service is quick because there are less and less people going for the awful service and after 20 years I am going somewhere else.
Took some interstate visitors for dinner. First experience with schnitzel for one of them. How embarrassing it was dry and disgusting. The other visitor was disappointed with his meal. A complaint was made but basically dismissed. My 79 yo mother phoned the manager and was promised a voucher in the post but ..... didnt arrive! Dont bother with this hotel, terrible food, service and no atmosphere.

Love the Emu. Meals are always lovely and the Salad bar is excellent. Its always fresh and tasty. Cant complain about the prices especially the lunch specials as they represent good value. The service is always attentive and professional. Special mention to Ben and Nick. Keep up the good work. You are both an asset to this place.
We needed to wait for our meals but the staff apologised and kept us up to date how long meals would be. Great staff - friendly and knew the menu. Food when arrived was enjoyable.

Had lunch there today. Attended by Louise who was very attentive and professional. Food was great and the bistro was packed. We will go again
