My husband and I have wanted to try this restaurant for quite a while. We went for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was quite full but we were seated promptly. Service was friendly and efficient. We started with the ceviche mixto which had fish, squid and prawns with the perfect amount of spice and red onions. Was very fresh. We both loved this appetizer. We had two entres which we shared: the Pollo A la Parrilla with chile Pasilla which came with rice and potato and The Paella Marinera with assorted seafood. We absolutely enjoyed both of these dishes. There was no shortage of seafood in the paella, a real treat. The chicken was incredibly moist and perfectly seasoned. Servings f...

Right on El Camino, this isn't an impressive looking place. In fact, you'd likely not even notice driving by. But that would be a mistake, as it has good food that is a bit unusual. Peruvian is not one of the more common offerings, but it's tasty and generally amenable to American tastes. It's just a different combination of flavors, but it's an effective change from the usual. For example, I had a paella stew that was fairly similar in composition to a paella from anywhere in Europe or New England but the most prominent taste was cilantro. Some folks don't like it, but I do, and it made a relatively commonplace dish into something pleasantly different. Everyone else had something that could...

I go here for the lunch specials which offer such good value. You can have the specials with either soup or salad. I always choose the chicken soup which is extraordinarily good. Obviously created from scratch, the broth hits the spot unlike any other made from scratch chicken soup I've tasted. Lunch specials are complete meals with made from scratch bread that is crunchy on the outside and incredibly soft on the inside. There's always a generous serving of whipped butter to go with it. Tuesdays is Stewed Beef on Rice with Beans and some kind of pickled veggies (onions) .. The Stewed Beef is incredibly soft and melts in your mouth. So good! As if this is not enough, you also get a cup of cof...

Have you ever had Peruvian food? Most people haven't. This would be a place to visit to sample authentic Peruvian cuisine with a good selection of dishes. It is clean, easy to find (but parking on the street), has good food, and the service is very friendly. Although it offers other cuisines, we go there just to sample Peruvian food or order a previous favorite. I think most people would like Peruvian—not as spicy as caribbean, lots of purple potatoes (once rare but now in many fine markets), lots of corn/maize, interesting beverages. It plays Peruvian music videos, but that is part of its funky charm. Book a table now

For so many years we have passed by this place right across from Sequoia High School. My husband wanted to try Peruvian food, and not knowing what to expect we entered Estampas. I was about to turn around to leave........the restaurant was dark, the decorations kind of kitschy and there was only one other couple in the whole place at 7:00pm. I am glad my husband convinced me to stay, because the food was delicious. We started with Anticuchos...wonderful. Then, my husband and I split the saltado de pollo. It also was delicious . There was so much food that we had to box up the leftovers. A great find!

We went there with friends. First impression was a little bit mixed. The entrance is dark and not very welcoming. But as we entered, we were surprised how huge the place is. Their range of entrees is great and we really liked it. Our friend lived a while in Peru and said, their food was really original.
