Tonight was a random winter's night in Canberra, however, randomly I was craving fish and chips and my adventure began!
I was really surprised by the Fish Shack, I wasn't expecting a lot, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The batter was good quality and there was actually a substantial difference between them in texture and taste. I believe that the fish we received was blue grenadier, a typical fish and chips type of fish!
The prices were good and the complimentary sauce was great too. I'll definitely come back next time I'm craving some fish and chips in Canberra.
I went to Canberra for a business trip and stayed on on Good Friday. A chances on this place By accident. Is all eateries where partly closed displace was lined up with people. However when my turn came to place the order they were quite accommodating replace chips with sweet potato wedges. The food was good, the fish was fried perfectly, and the fries were tasty. Overall a good place.
Honestly such a gem. It doesn't look like much but the seafood and vegan 'seafood' is exceptional. The $10 seafood basket is delicious. The vegan prawns, fish sticks and calamari are scarily good and realistic. The chips are super crunchy and well seasoned. Service is great and food always fresh. Price is reasonable, would definitely recommend
Best vegan burgers! This place is our regular for Friday evenings. I've never come across any other place that does vegan fish and chips! Their vegan menu is HUGE!!!! The chicken burger and fish burger are to die for! the snack pack is amazing too! they have also installed heaters outside so that people can eat there in winter.

I googled where to get a laksa and this place showed up! It sounds unusual to get a laksa at a fish and chip shop but it was great! The seafood was real (not seafood sticks) and cooked perfectly! If you're in Civic and looking for a large meal, try here! Will have to try their chips next time.
probably some of the worst food i have ever ordered & tried to eat, incompetent staff that don't know anything about any of the food they are serving to customers. if you are thinking of walking to this place to grab something to eat just keep on walking and find some where else.
This place used to be a great little fish n chip spot. Standards have really dropped...(been twice in last few months). If you're ABSOLUTELY craving to have a seafood fix then this is your place. However, I wouldn't recommend as a planned destination.
Their fish and chips are always freshly made and the burgers are delicious. And the sugar cane juice reminds me of the summer in Singapore. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Not sure how they do it. Magic probably. The vegan menu is extensive and brilliant. I've come back for it twice now. Would recommend as a fantastic vegan alternative.
I can't even put into words how good the vegan menu is at this place. You MUST try the double cheese and pulled mushroom burger. You will not regret it.
