We had previously dined at Fishbone in Stouffville and had a great experience, with tasty food. I was expecting at least as much from Fishbone by the Lake, after hearing about it from several sources, but was sadly disappointed by the limited menu, below-average food quality and preparation. Our group ordered a variety of items that failed to deliver. The Beet and Orange salad was wilted – it had to be sent back for fresh greens. The shrimp tacos were unappetizing (both the soft taco and shrimp were uncooked, pasty-looking and white, sitting on a plain bed of lettuce) – neither seemed to have been touched by a grill or skillet. The Crab Cake burger was just OK (not well seasoned) the Beef an...

Lovely views of the lake and beach - good food and great service. There were two of us and we shared the cajan shrimp appetizer. Excellent choice; the shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. Will definitely have that again. I ordered the crab burger with fries and husband had the chicken pasta. He said the pasta was excellent and although my crab burger could have had more seasoning and was a little dry (hence 4 stars instead of 5) it was still very good. The hostess was very welcoming and our server was an absolute delight. There was no sense of being hurried to "eat and get out" even though there were quite a few groups waiting (we had a small table). We had absolutely no complaints and do...

Two pints of beer is $10, without tip. The restaurant is all outdoors, which I didn't realize, then had difficulty getting seated in the shade (a health requirement). When we arrived, the hostess told us it would be a 10-min wait as there were several reservations. Fair enough, but 15m later, at least half the 18 tables were empty. Then they allowed us to sit in a back corner, directly under an audio speaker that was blurting out music at a sufficient volume that we could comfortably converse. When we asked if it could be turned down the answer was a very economical "No". This from our server, Bea. She was polite but unfriendly for the duration. Two appetizers, a burger with fries and 4 pint...

Fishbone on the Lake is a seasonal patio restaurant, either under the large canopy or umbrella tables. A great view while you enjoy your lunch or dinner. They now take reservations which is really recommended. Appetizers, salad, burgers, pizza, fish and meat options. Nice selection of craft beers, traditional beer favourites, wine. We were there for lunch, tried a pizza, and the crab burger with fresh cut fries. Both choices were great, followed by a Portuguese egg tart. Worth the drive north of the tpwn of Stouffville. Ample parking in front or in the lot across the road. They also have their original restaurant on Main St., Stouffville. Book a table now

Went to Fishbone by the Lake for the first time. All of the tables have an amazing view of the lake and are outside. In inclement weather they simply close. Reservation is a must. The menu had something for everyone, and the food was very good. There is an outdoor pizza oven, some seafood selections and burgers. I had the beef and lamb burger which was quite tasty. The waiter, Ricky was amazing and gave great service despite the fact that we were a large indecisive group! He did separate (complicated) cheques.

Had lunch. I ate all Appetizers. Bread board with Hummus and Herb Butter, Fried Stuffed Zucchini Flowers , Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Beet and Orange Salad, Tuna Poke. My friend had the Mussels and from the Entree Section the Grilled Octopus. All were beautifully executed and tasted amazing. Deep fried zucchini blossoms were not greasy. This restaurant is pricey but worth it. The deck overlooking Musselman's Lake is lovely.I very much recommend this restaurant. There was not a single negative. We will be back.

My family and I were camping at cedar beach this weekend. My husband went to the fishbone around 8pm to get a small pepperoni pizza for my 4 year old son and I. What he brought back was awful and disgusting. Unedible! I was so disappointed with the pizza. It didn't even resemble pizza. There was no cheese on it. It looked like ketchup spread on dough with cut up hot dog on top. It was Unedible so I tried to fed tp my dog who wouldn't even eat it. She took half the pizza and buried it in the woods
