The food at Five Guys Burgers Fries is quite good, but whatever you do, avoid ordering by phone or making special requests. Instead, use their online ordering system. The staff tend to get confused over the phone and will probably mess up your order, no matter how simple it is. They seem to follow a very strict routine, and anything that deviates from it causes issues. For example, pickup orders are usually wrapped in foil. I asked if they could wrap it in paper or leave the foil open to prevent the food from getting soggy. We waited for a few minutes for someone to take our order. After a while, an employee (an Indian man) finally asked what we wanted to order, but then suddenly took out his phone and told us that they couldn’t take any more orders because it was already 10 PM. He also pointed at a cup with a strange smile, saying he could give us some water. We didn’t come in for a cup of water. We arrived before 10 PM, so why wasn’t it mentioned earlier that they were closing? His attitude was very rude and unprofessional.
The burger and fries were both tasty. However, I had to send back the chocolate shake because it looked more like soup. The supervisor who handled the issue had noticeable marks on her neck, which was a bit unprofessional and distracting.
The cheeseburger arrived without cheese, and when they made a new one, they didn’t bother to melt it. The fries were lukewarm, when I was really hoping for them to be hot. It also took five minutes to get a napkin.
