My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Flame last weekend, and it was one of the best meals of my life. We went in with high expectations, and they were exceeded. My steak was cooked perfectly, the candied bacon jalapeno mashed potatoes and lobster mac and cheese were excellent sides, and the bread was incredible. My wife had the salmon oscar, and she enjoyed it very much. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, was that we had to ask for bread. When they brought it out, it was soooo good. The popover muffins were completely different than I had tried before, and the peach white chocolate muffins were a perfect sweet ending. We knew going in that the meal would be expensive, so...
There is one notable steak house is Springfield MO and that is Flame. This is a quality stake focused restaurant that is not going to disappoint. I recommend the bone in Filet or the bone in Ribeye. You'll have a great meal and great service from the moment you walk in until you are ready to leave.
Good ambience. Service was slow on Saturday evening at 5:45p. Prices are reasonable. Porterhouse was so so but the filet mignon was very good. It took 30 minutes to get a cocktail totally unacceptable. Food is good but not exceptional. We enjoyed their sister restaurant Char more.
Flame is a wonderful place to take guests for consistent high quality steaks. The place is always busy and frequented by the Springfield business community. My guest from the UK was impressed thoroughly.
