Take the tram to schwanheim and it's a minute walk from there. Also at the station there is the transport museum if you like a bit of history about Frankfurts tram system. The restaurant is always busy. A good sign. For more than...two people I would recommend reservations to be guaranteed a place. Sometimes live music too with typical German bands. It appears to be family owned and well run. Lunchtimes always busy too as they have special set menus starting around euros per person. Soup and desert is usually included. Sundays packed so best to book. Typical German food, schnitzel or steaks etc but plenty of other choices too. Portions are quite large so go with an appetite. All in all, good...
Stayed at a hotel miles from this restaurant. The Steigenberger. You can walk to it in about minutes. If the weather is nice make an afternoonevening of a good round trip walk and a meal. This is my second visit. I walked the...first time. Otherwise the taxi was euros round trip. Typical German fare. Neat restaurant with a retractable roof for good weather. Like an outdoor beer garten. The pork haunch is enough for two and then some. Really good stuff. Friends had the mixed meat plate and the roast chicken, both of which looked great. Have visited here a couple of times. Enjoy the relaxed casual atmosphere. Each time I have had the pig knuckle which was HUGE, and great tasting. Washed down with a few beers makes for a great evening. The service becomes a bit hit and miss...when the crowd arrives which seems to be around after which the beers can take a long time to come or be forgotten totally. Another strange point is the reluctance to accept credit cards. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But overall a great place for a casual meal and a drink or two

Was here for business dinner week ago. Food excellent. From pork knee to snitzel we had was absolutely top. Beer also very good. Service perfect. Why then only star? This is last restaurant in Germany where you are aloud to smoke. That is very...unusually in these days and you are not to used anymore. Cloth smell like ... well you know. Still all other things was so perfect so I believe guest like me will still come back
Have been here several times in the last couple of years..... whenever I want schnitzel I come here. The food has always been great when i`ve eaten here, like others have said , sometimes in the busiest hours the service may get a little slow.....All...in All I would say it`s a great place for traditional German Food and Beer,..
I love Haxe and eat it whenever I can. This is the worst I have ever had. Dry! Like chewing cardboard. Service is not very efficient. Neither is the kitchen. We started at and main course served hours later! And then the...food was bad. Major letdown!!
I have visited the place with co workers of mine last year August. of us ordered Schnitzel and they were just awesome. The size of the dishes are great for the price. Since August I plan to go back and hope that it...will be soon

Very comfortable, friendly place. They do the classic Frankfurt schnitzel with green sauce an herbal cream sauce. very nice, and recommended. I wouldn't order pig's knuckles here, they deep fry it, which is not to my taste
Everytime I'm in Schwanheim I make a point to eat here. The typical German Apfelwein and Beer Garden cuisine is excellent and reasonably priced. They have a large Hof which is a pleasure to eat in weather permitting
