Once a year we are in Frankfurt and then there is a MUST DO for us: the apple wine in the cannon tea. We met with friends and family there. Ebbelwoi and Grie sauce were on our program. And we got this from the ombud in the beautiful garden. Young, friendly and accommodating services gave us a table, although almost everything was reserved for the EM final game. We hadn't reserved. The menu was the way to introduce it when someone looking for Frankfurt specialties and treats. We chose the Franfurter Schnitzel with green sauce. I booked a table in this restaurant well in advance as i had guests in ffm who wanted to try a typical restaurant: as soon as we entered the place no one greeted, they simply ignored us and let us wait mins before approaching...us. Reservation was lost and as the place was booked out no possibility to get a table ....dinner was ruined and not a nice situation for my guests. I’ll never go to this restaurant again!
Walk through a building tunnel to get to an inner courtyard where you can eat outside at long tables. The inside seating on benches looks nice too. We had a traditional meal, lots of meat Sausage, Pork, Ham, potatoes, sauerkraut, and washed down with Apple...Wine. Really a pleasant meal when we visited in May, lots of locals I think too. This is one of the better places for a traditional meal
This is a typical place where food is severed the same way in the good old days. We had the apple wine, which is home made and it was pleasantly great .... The food was simply marvellous and value for money ... If you happen...to be Frankfurt, don’t miss this place. It’s a must eat place . Do try their fried potatoes, which comes in small circular size ...it’s simply lip smacking good..

In order to experience a typical gasthaus you have to go to sachsenhausen. We called Friday and we got luckily a seat for saturday! Excellent typical food in an ancient pub crowded and noisy, with shared tables, with many locals of all ages. Cheaper than...all gasthaus near romer. We strongly recommend it!

Tucked away from majority of tourists, the Kanonesteppel offers traditional Frankfurt cuisine and good local „Appelwoi“. Enjoyed a summer evening in the courtyard with friends enjoying typical Hessisch delicacies. NB: they only take cash and no ATMs near
Has Frankfurter Schnitzel, hand cheese with music and the baked apple rings. Everything super delicious, chess and it does not float in fat. Come back!
