A truly wonderful Sunday lunch. The new autumn menu is excellent. Our usual favourite (roast lamb) was as good as ever. Such a good selection of beautifully cooked vegetables (love the swede and turnip). I had the mini malt loaf and whipped black garlic butter. The homemade bread is the nicest I’ve had and the mini loaves with whipped butter take this to another level. The pumpkin tortellini with brown butter and almonds was generously garnished with toasted almonds and goats cheese and the micro greens are not purely decorative, but tasty too. The puddings have become more exciting and I’d highly recommend the ‘walnut whip’ fondant. I usually dislike fondants and chocolate puddings, but the...

The Fuzzy Duck was an excellent choice for a short break and we were not disappointed. We decided with friends on an overnight stay together with dinner and breakfast. The ambience, the rooms and their amenities, the service was tip top and the evening meal both generous in portions together with great cocktails and drinks. For us the service throughout was outstanding and we received the same degree of attention during the stay, the staff were more than eager to answer any questions and I would not hesitate in recommending this pub/restaurant. Breakfast we were greeted by a good choice of both hot and cold options. A couple of rosettes for dining and an award winning Baylis Harding’s range...

Felt it didn’t live up to expectations. The wines and drinks were pretty expensive. The don’t do sandwiches or anything like that at lunch time. The food was average. The room was nice but no biscuits : which I felt was a bit mean. Well thought out rooms with everything you need though. . On the first night the alarm went off at 1.35 and the next day we found out that there are no staff on site at all during the night which I found rather disconcerting and when we reported it the next day no one knew it had gone off!! All round felt it didn’t live up to its hype.

Stayed one night. My room was beautifully appointed but the bed a little on the soft side for me. Unfortunately, for some strange reason, they leave the pub sign lights on all night which illuminated a ring of light on the wall around my curtains. The food was exceptional. In fact the scotch egg starter was quite simply the best I’ve ever had. Succulent centre with crisp coating. Sublime. The beef was a triumph too. All-in-all a lovely stay. Recommended.
