PROS Service was great; ambience was local neighborhood eatery vibe not particularly quiet but a cool, fun atmosphere. We don't drink alcohol but there is an extensive list of wine and other libations. Dessert Kataifi Cigar was incredible. CONS Interesting combination of ingredients but most of it tasted very average and a little bland not something one would expect of Middle Eastern cuisine ; we were presented with a set menu priced at $95/person, and although we could each order one dish from the Mezze and the mains, we were required to share all of the appetizers and the dessert we were presented with only one ! kataifi cigar which is essentially a canoli . We left the restaurant feeling...
When this place first opened it was really good. Now I find it to be just okay. I was surprised when I saw they increased their prices AND have a 4% charge for health insurance for their staff, and a 20% service fee to be split with the staff (if you want to leave your specifc server a tip, that is extra). With how successful this place has been, I truly believe the owners should be paying for health insurance.. on top of the 4% for that, the 20% service fee, them raising prices.. come on. Their food is not worth the price, unfortunately. Use to be much better.
6/12 was our Anniversary and my wife booked Galit. Wow!!! I was so impressed on all levels. The food was amazing and just the right amount of portions. Galit is a must if have a desire for middle eastern food. The service was just as amazing. Attentive to our every need and we could not have been more relaxed. What other restaurant would hand write an Anniversary card Sorry for the pics…but he food was so delicious, I would forget to take a photo.
We just got done dining at Galit and it was a great time. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. We celebrated a birthday and they even gave us a birthday card signed by the staff, which I thought was such a fun and unique aspect. We got the Kataifi Cigar for dessert and I highly recommend! I also recommended sitting at the countertop if you’re able.
