Since most of the French don't seem to get hungry before 7pm and finding anywhere to eat before that can be a challenge at the best of times, we had little choice but to pick up the first place that was serving food all day. Having said that the burger did not disappoint it was perfectly cooked nice and juicy with lots of cheese. The service was good only taking about 10 minutes from order. If you are after the real French food this is not that sort of place but for a fast bite out of normal French eating times, this is a place with considering
We definitely keep returning to the Garden Ice Café, due to the selection of foods available, the friendly staff and some of the nights they put on. Every time I order something different, it never fails to satisfy. Although not a gourmet place, you get a good feeling of comfort up in the dining are at the back, and a more of a bar/café style up the front. Prices are good and value is equally as good, we’ve never left feeling hungry.Not sure what else to say apart from it is one of the best places to eat in Cognac
We have eaten here a few times both lunch and evening meal and have not been disappointed. It has a good position in the centre of the town and has an advantage of being open most of the time during this visit we had an evening meal and breakfast. The latter was not terribly exciting hence the slightly lower score. However the evening meal was very good with efficient service and a very good selection to choose from.
Restaurants in Cognac seem to close at 2pm, so we were really please to find Garden Ice Café. We just shared the Garden Ice Burger, which came with Béarnaise sauce & onions, great crispy fries & salad, really tasty and cooked medium rare. Good value, Nice decor, friendly staff, music playing inside, good beer (Afligem) and a nice rose wine. What more do you need of an afternoon?

If you are totally desperate for food then nip across the road to Subway. I have had the unfortunate pleasure of going here on 4 or 5 ocassions because friends wanted to go there. The food is frozen, over priced and the service is arrogant.
Pleasant cafe and staff were helpful. Good location for people watching right on the square with pretty red awnings. Food was good and not overpriced. There was a good choice if food from traditional French through to pizza .
We just needed a quick bite. It was convenient and quick by local standards. Probably not the Romantic Cafe you dream of but it served our purpose and the frites were quite good and not too salty.
We are here twice which means it was ok food was very tasty and it had a big choice which was well cooked and presented, I would recommend the Garden Ice Cafe when visiting Cognac

Plenty of choice. Something for everyone. Simply cooked food of good quality. Haven't been for a while but would certainly recommened.
My husband and I had a pleasant lunch here. Nothing special, but convenient. It's great for people-watching.
