This restaurant was our favorite Indian place for 10 years. We made it through the entire menu and enjoyed everything. We've seen various managers, hosts, and wait staff come and go over the years, and we really miss Marty. We visited more than 10 times a year, bringing friends along and enthusiastically recommending the place to anyone who would listen. However, something changed, and the quality of the food became increasingly inconsistent. We tried to give them multiple chances and were understanding during Covid, but during our final visit, the tandoori chicken tasted like it had been cooked days ago. You don't need to be an expert to recognize when meat is past its prime. That was the b...

We visited the restaurant on Bay Pines Blvd, and it was quite enjoyable. We started with the Kerala Shrimp appetizer, which could have used a bit more flavor. My wife ordered the Butter Chicken; it was rich and would have benefited from a touch of brightness, but it was still good. I opted for the Tandoori Platter, which was excellent—the chicken was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. We also ordered a side of Tamarind Chutney, which was outstanding and added the brightness that some of the dishes were lacking. We enjoyed a Mango Lassi as well; it could have been a bit tarter, but it was still refreshing. The Garlic Naan was fantastic. The service was excellent, and the restaurant...

After a fun day at the beach drum circle, we decided to grab some food on our way home. The restaurant had a charming traditional Indian atmosphere, featuring beautiful fabrics, elegant chandeliers, and intricately carved wooden furniture. The staff were welcoming and attentive to our needs. We ordered samosas, two garlic naans, and Butter chicken. The portion sizes were generous, perfectly suited for the two of us. The spice level was just right, and the tamarind chutney was a delightful accompaniment. Overall, the food was delicious and a great value for the price. I even went back to take more photos of the dine-in food presentation!

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is delicious, and they have a great selection of wines. It's been a while since our last visit, and I noticed that the menu has gotten a bit smaller and the buffet is no longer available. It does get quite crowded during dinner hours. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here, and I really hope it stays open, as there are so few Indian restaurants nearby. My wife and I love Indian cuisine for its hearty and spicy dishes, especially around Treasure Island. Don’t shy away from a little spice in your life! If you’re sensitive to heat, just ask for a milder option. Enjoy your meal! Book a table now

Discovered this place on our way home from the beach drum circle. The restaurant features traditional Indian decor, complete with beautiful fabrics, chandeliers, and intricately carved wooden furniture. The staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered samosas, two garlic naan, and butter chicken, which was more than enough for both of us. The spices were just right, and the tamarind chutney was delightful. Everything tasted amazing and was a great value. I returned and added more photos showcasing the presentation of the food.

Where do I even start? This is undoubtedly the best lamb in St. Pete! As someone who observes the biblical Sabbath, I truly appreciate how Kumar always goes above and beyond to make me feel special. He graciously accommodates my requests for lamb kebabs, making Gateway to India my go-to for takeout. The food perfectly matches the exceptional service! May God continue to bless this wonderful establishment! Thank you so much, Kumar! You’re truly a class act! And the naan sides are amazing, too!

The experience was excellent, with a wonderful atmosphere and attentive service. Unfortunately, two of the desserts we wanted were unavailable, but we'll definitely return to try them. I ordered the tandoori chicken, which was packed with flavor, and my daughter had the lamb morroco, which was fantastic!

Delicious! The ambiance was lovely as well. We enjoyed Lamb Madras, Onion Bhaji, and buttery Naan bread, all bursting with amazing flavors. The service was excellent, even on a busy Saturday evening. There was also plenty of parking available. Book a table now

I dined with a group of seven, and we all enjoyed the Sunday Buffet. Our meals were hot and delicious. We also recommend trying the Mango Lassi as a drink. Overall, it was above average.
