The pizza was very cheesy (used a few napkins to soak up the excess grease on top). My visit was before the State of California opened the state up without previous restrictions, so at the time, there was limited seating inside the restaurant- either the main area next to the kitchen, or in the bar area. During COVID, many establishments closed their indoor dining rooms all together and allowed employees to use these areas for their breaks. While we had dinner, one employee took a break across the room and dropped the f-bomb a couple of times while talking with another employee. We have lived around the world, having spent the last 15 years in the bay area. Gay Nineties is simply put the BEST! We remember bringing our 4 year old nephew (who was cranky and tired and not behaving particularly well) and the owner's wife was so nice about it, bringing him plain pasta and settling him. We ate here scores of times and had the best food and experience every time. If you haven't been, you're missing out. We've recently moved away from the bay area, but on our next visit, we will make time for Gay Nineties!
Unbelievably bad service from the wait staff…not attentive, paid no attention to our not having the pizza 40 minutes after ordering. We could not get her attention despite waving and calling her loudly. When we asked, somehow the pizza showed immediately and it was lukewarm…it appeared that the waitress let it sit for some time. We would not go here again due to the very bad service. Pizza however was decent no complaints there.
Good pizza. Be sure to ask the the haunting and ghost sightings in the corner booth. Employees can talk about it but some are scared and a little hesitant. This place has been featured on tv shows because of the haunt. There is also a doorway to underground Pleasanton that was used to transport prisoners across town in the early days. This would help keep them from being attacked.

I’ve lived in Pleasanton since the ‘70s and Gay 90’s has always had the best pizza in town. The current manager, Conner, is amazing and always takes great care of my family, from helping my 80+ year old mother to always making sure my daughter has great gluten free pizza. Thanks Gay 90’s!
Our friends recommended this restaurant to us, and we were not disappointed. The pizza was among the best I've ever tasted, reminiscent of authentic Italian pizza. We had a great dining experience and would happily return and recommend this place.
The young couple that owns and runs this place is a pleasure to do business with. The pizza is excellent and consistent. Quality food. Love this place. They appreciate your business here.
We stopped here on our way home to the valley. My bf swears it’s the best pizza in the bay. It was pretty good and served piping hot!

Great pizza. Dough is just perfect! Ingredients are piled up. Parking is easy. Staff is friendly as well.
