If you're looking for amazing food, friendly service, and convenient location on your way into (or out of) town this is the place! My hubby and I were getting into town and looking for somewhere to eat before our tee time at Lake Tahoe Golf Course. Getaway Cafe was the first stop of our baby moon and we are big foodies so this really set the tone for our trip. With an hour to kill before our tee time we were crossing our fingers it would be a quick yummy experience and it didn't dissapoint. Great food, great service. Love the outdoor seating. Showed up around 11:30 on a Saturday and it was busy so it was a 20minute wait. The owner seated us as she was also working/waitressing. Very nice lady and she explained everything on the menu. Chorizo omelet was great, but we had to try the maple bacon glazed French toast and it was so good! Really need to try to coconut version next time. One thing I loved is how crispy the home fries are, most places have home fries that are not crispy. Noticed the crowd tapered off after 12 so maybe show up after if you don't want to wait too long. Great place and can't wait to come back.
This place is amazing! Great place to start the day with a lot of unique breakfast choices! Dog Friendly too! We will definitely be back on our next Tahoe trip! The food and drinks were amazing. The coconut crusted french toast caught my eye when previously looking at their menu and it didn't disappoint! Large portion too!!! Eggs Benedict was really good. And they had the most unique breakfast drinks like the Boba Mosa (the passion fruit was delicious) and the Manmosa (beer with oj). Both were sooo good!!! Can't wait to go back!!!
It is busy at lunchtime, but fortunately you can always order to go. The food was absolutely the best, the burrito and the sauces were better than at any of the Mexican restaurants I tried this year. The coconut french toast was yummy. Serving sizesare large, two persons can share most dishes served here without staying hungry. Dogs need to stay outside, but plenty of seatsare in front of the restaurants for the sunny days.

I really enjoyed eating here. It doesn't have a ton of stuff compared to other breakfast places but the stuff they offer is very delicious. There's outdoor seating that has a little bit of shade depending on the time you go. Parking is kinda tight. Staff is friendly. We ordered a breakfast burrito, chocolate chip pancakes, ham/ eggs. They also offer lunch.
So so yummy! There is a bit of a wait but totally worth it. And while waiting there is a coffee bar and a waiter comes around taking drinks orders. Everything is homemade and locally sourced. Best food I'd had in Tahoe. Customer service is great. Everyone was super friendly and kind. Including the owner who goes table to table.
Absolutely deserving of the rating! Staff was friendly and food was delicious! Only complaint would be the wait but even then it?s definitely worth the wait! I had the deluxe eggs Benedict and I have no complaints. If you have the chance you should drop by. I do recommend calling ahead to make a reservation.
Everything here was so good all home made Family owned and warm family feeling. From the coffee to the Chilaquiles with chorizo sooo good , we stopped by on the way from leaving Tahoe . Ill be back for sure thanks for hospitality an even better home cooked food Cheers!!!!

Best service in all of Tahoe area. Diane (owner) immediately greeted us at our table to explain the specials and where the food was sourced from. We had the BLT, with an extra side of bacon, the ****** (spicy) and the chorizo omelette breakfast special.
