Just had the most amazing steak at this place. Myself and gorgeous wife was staying at the granary 2.5 miles away and tried to get a meal around here (Hereford) cant believe how many places didnt serve food or was out of food on a SATURDAY! the golden cross inn gave us both one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We do many cruises each year and the food on those ships, I dont think any one can touch, but this pubs meal was one of the best. The Chef is worth his weight in gold. We did ask the barmaid to let him know how happy we both was with the food, the quality and value for money was great. A local village pub at its best. Well done and thank you. Doug Jones
We would like to express our thanks to the Golden Cross in Hereford for hosting our staff event. We had an amazing experience, with attentive service all day. We highly recommend this venue for business meetings, birthday parties, and other special occasions. The venue is beautiful, the food is excellent, and they offer a wide variety of drinks. The service was provided by a very friendly guy. Both of us ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were actually pretty good, but the fries were terrible. They seemed to have been reheated, and were dry and tasteless. If we had been dining in instead of getting takeout, I would have definitely sent them back. Overall, food gets a 3, service gets a 5, and the atmosphere gets a 4.
Twelve of us gathered for Christmas Day lunch at this restaurant. We all had a fantastic three-course meal that we really savored. The atmosphere was delightful and the staff were wonderful. Overall, we were extremely pleased and couldn't have asked for a better experience.
