DO NOT GO HERE. To begin with, one of their waitresses who was starting her shift was literally COUGHING everywhere. She didn't cover her cough most the time, but she also coughed directly into her hand, then handled all the soy sauces and began putting them on EVERY table. It wasn't just a short quick cough, it was a deep, constant cough that went on for minutes... They were so rude the instant I walked in, one waitress went to another couple's table to serve them after they arrived 10 minutes after I did--still, no one came to the table. Was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Very rude people and disappointing food.

Goshu Ramen Tei is one of two Japanese eateries on this block. It's closer to the Circular Quay end with more seating outside than in. The bento comes with miso soup, agedashi tofu and rice but you have the option of swapping the miso soup for edamame and the rice for salad. I had the fish teriyaki and opted for more salad instead of the rice. The soft fish was lightly fried and coated in a balanced teriyaki sauce. The tantanmen, a collagen-rich pork broth flavoured with sesame paste was also well-received, as was the wagyu beef bento. Nothing fancy or innovative but just simple, tasty Japanese food at reasonable prices.
All too often I tell myself I'll head in for a light salmon and avocado salad, but my mouth seems incapable of uttering anything other than Tan Tan ramen. So much on the menu appeals but I can rarely go past the spicy pork mince or wagyu beef on miso broth. Always friendly and accommodating staff, fast turn around, EFT and being able to split bills keeps us coming back.
Come here a lot, more out of convenience because it's close to work. The food is good but not spectacular. Usually order the spicy pork ramen- definitely the best thing on the menu. Went for the agadashi tofu today for a change and was pleasantly surprised. Delightful dish. Satisfied but as I said previously, not spectacular. Book a table now
Great place for fresh Japanese food that is not too pricey. It is open late most nights so it is very convenient. I love getting the spicy chicken set which is good value for money and fresh. I also substitute the rice for another salad making it a low carb meal.
Came for lunch with my mates with the high hope from previous experience for lunch. Not for sure that the management has been changed or not. But the food came super late. Service was a mess. Foods ain't even taste good as well. Never come back again!
I love this little place at the top of York St. The service is always quick, even when they are busy and the food is really good. I've had several different dishes here and they are always very tasty.
Loved their ramen!! My husband and I both ordered ramen, which we won't do next time given the very large portions!! I ordered the teriyaki chicken and him Book a table now
Don't be fooled by the drawing of the lone chili pepper next to certain menu itemsIt does not mean "little spicy", it just means "spicy".

"My girlfriend really enjoys thirsty bird, but I think it's just average. The fried chicken is pretty typical, but the pickles stand out as unique."
