Don't be fooled by the looks of this restaurant, it is not a fancy place, but boy, the food was really good. There were three of us. Two had the pot roast. The meat was extremely tender, and the gravy was delicious. The homemade mashed potatoes were also very good. The other person was my mom, who had a chicken salad sandwich on rye. That was not on the menu, but my mom asked what the chicken salad was on the menu. The waitress explained it was grilled chicken on a salad. It is a nice mother-and-pop dining company that reminds you of the good Ole days. Your best dish for me are Gary's breakfast bowls served all day. Wendy's service is always beautiful and relaxed. They have occasionally played live music on Wednesdays with local artists, including an amazing artist called Duffy, the really beautiful country, folk and pop tunes for 3 hours straight. It is sometimes accompanied by an accomplished violinist called Teri and another guitarist.

Great menu! Great food! Friendly service! I had the pork chop with grits and perfect pancakes. My husband had a meat-loving dish. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious, and our server was hospitable and efficient. We drove past Purcerville and two more diners were closed on Wednesday... and we're happy they were because Granny's was a rare treat!

Pancakes were good, coffee okay, but the roasted steak was the worst thing I ever had. The land engraving was slimy. Scrabble eggs were okay at home potatoes need to be cooked more.
