We had driven all the way from Warwick just to try your homemade ice cream. However, as we approached the counter, we found the lights turned off. I knocked on the window to ask if we could still get ice cream for our family of four—two adults and two children. One staff member kindly opened the window and seemed willing to help, but another staff member came over, informed us that you were closed, and then shut and locked the window while I stood there with my 4 and 6-year-olds. Many ice cream stands in New England operate only during the warmer months, but thankfully, Gray's is open all year round—every single day! During my recent visit, I was pleased to discover nearly 30 flavors available. The pumpkin and egg nog flavors had an authentic, natural taste and were wonderfully dense and creamy. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, perfect for a late afternoon indulgence that could easily spoil dinner, which was precisely what I was aiming for. I stumbled upon this solid local gem thanks to a thorough search on Google Maps just before my day trip through the area.
I absolutely love this restaurant and everything about it. My favorite part is the ambiance. I can’t understand how anyone could have anything negative to say about it. The ice always puts me in a great mood. The journey to get there, the location, and, of course, the delicious food are all worth the visit every single time. I can’t wait to go back again and again!
As noted by other reviewers, the ingredient list is chiefly made up of different types of gum, such as guar and xanthan. Essentially, this cream is largely composed of gum. Grays!!! Ah, it will always remind me of home. The coffee mocha chip ice cream is simply unforgettable. No matter what, I always make it a point to visit every time I return home from Bermuda. The friendly smiles and delicious ice cream never fail to brighten my day!
I hadn't been there in more than 20 years, and the ice cream is still as tasty as I remember. However, I noticed that the prices are quite steep. I really wonder how families with teenagers can manage to indulge in ice cream like this these days.
We really enjoy the long drive to Gray Ice, and it's definitely worth it! My husband is a fan of the Grapenut flavor, while I love the lemon and orange pineapple. Honestly, just about any other flavor is delicious too!
I had the pistachio ice cream, which unexpectedly featured a delightful pistachio pudding inside instead of real pistachios. It was delicious! My travel companion got the maple ice cream and said it was fantastic too.
