I don 't like standing in line to order, receiving minimal service yet being asked to tip on a total for which I do most of the work. The food was just 'okay ', the service was virtually non-existent, and so, unfortunately, I don 't feel in a rush to return. When I go to a restaurant, I expect a certain amount of attentive interest in my being there, plus, service. Guavas did not deliver. I did, however, enjoy the diversity of diners and cultural ambiance that would woo me to revisit more than the other aforementioned factors.
Food was fresh and service was nice. Quaint little place with interesting street decor. I recognized the IKEA plate ware. Food: ordered Chicharron de pollo, plantains chips and dip, tamale with pork, fried fish and rice for the kid, and friend ordered shrimp. Everything was great; funny enough the kids meal was the best tasting thing! Fish was super good. I also really liked the black bean dip they had.
Had another wonderful meal and experience at Guava’s. It’s so nice to have such a fantastic restaurant right in our neighborhood. The Piccadillo bowl and patatas bravas and green sauce) are my favorite. They also have really good savory or sweet pastries that are great to tack into your meal and take home for breakfast the next day. Great selection of wine, beers and sangria.
A delicious taste of Cuba and its culture; a pure hidden jewel in the heart of Minneapolis. The food, the atmosphere is captivating, an experience to try at least once! The mouth watered Cubano is a must!! Your mango and pineapple juice is absolutely delicious. Believe me, Guavas must be on the maps. Today was my first time there on my sister's recommendation. I love! The ambient was really cozy and inviting! I had the Cubano sanguich with a Cafe con Leche, it was all very good would definitely come back! The employee all seem and were really nice!
Nice little restaurant with outdoor seating. The food is amazingly delicious? the seafood white sauce is creamy and tasty. There are two large Tilapia fillets on the bottom covered with sauce. Would really recommend this place
