We drove along the coast with our ultimate destination being Hai Yuan Seafood, and we have enjoyed our visits every time. The small clam soup features a robust ginger broth that beautifully complements the clams. They are the freshest I’ve ever had, and it’s a delight to savor them straight from their shells – each time, they remain the best I’ve tasted in the world. We also enjoyed the nine-hole abalone, which was prepared with a mild sauce that allowed us to fully appreciate its marvelous texture and flavor. Since my first taste of them as a young man in Taiwan, nine-hole abalone has been my favorite. If you choose a fresh fish, you will be truly amazed.
