I had the worst sushi I've had for at least three years here. The fish itself seemed ok but the rice killed the three rolls I tried. The rice lacked seasoning and was mushy and lackluster. It was really quite disappointing. The menus on the website showing lunch specials aren't available. When we flagged for a server, he shrugged and said the owners didn't respond when told the same thing several times before. The inside ambiance is nothing to write home about and basic: a few wooden tables with a bar. I won't be back. It was a real disappointment. Do yourself a favor and go to Raku down the street which is surprisingly decent.
So, I’m a bit conflicted. Service was top notch and food was good, very satisfying. Two people shared edamame, shisito peppers, seared tuna salad, rainbow roll and Bethesda roll…. Very good very pleasant. Did not experience any of the service/food experiences of others.What I don’t get is why en route to the rest room, I see that the rest of the place looks like it’s seen better days and that the restrooms could be a bit less offensive to the senses. That seems an easy fix.Hope this helps!
First things first. Sushi is not that bad. Has potential. I recommend to order your meal as take out. Because..... staff is amazingly unprofessional. He atmosphere is horrible. Never been in a place that made me feel so uncomfortable. Is is a sports bar or a sushi restaurant? When you order from the menu, they serve the food whenever it's ready that means, you will get your starter after the entree or you will wait for your order whereas your table mate has already finished his/hers meal
In the past two weeks, we ordered two meals from Hanaro/Kusshi. The first meal was fantastic, but the second one was quite disappointing. We ordered the sashimi platter both times along with a few rolls. The sashimi platter was exceptional during our first visit, but it was bland and hardly enjoyable the second time. I'm giving this place 2 stars only because of how great the first meal was. Consistency matters, and unfortunately, we won't be ordering from here again.

I only order the sashimi set here, as am not a huge fan of mashed up western culture sushi flair~I order a sushi deluxe x 2, a sakura flower roll (I think), and some extra pieces of tuna and salmon. The total cost was about $75. Overall, it was good, we expected some sushi and thats what we ordered. You can't mess up fish, its either fresh or old, so its the safe route than the cooked foods.A nice some to eat again, so simple cheers from me, very good!
I ordered the Bethesda roll and 15 piece nigiri assortment on Grubhub. I thought that the quality was pretty good and the serving size was pretty big. The different raw pieces did not have any fishy smell. The color of the raw fish was also very vibrant. I was very surprised by the cooked nigiri such as the eel, shrimp, and octopus. The meat was very tender and not rubbery at all. Overall, I think this was a good meal.
I used a Groupon for my visit. The restaurant is undergoing renovations, so dining in wasn't an option. However, the rolls were delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. In terms of pricing, I would consider coming back if it were a bit more affordable. Overall, I would give it 5 stars.
O.k value. Tried some sushi and chicken teriyaki. chicken teriyaki came with plenty of chicken, few vegetables and the rice was ok. Rice consistency seemed al dente. Sushi was as ordered. Parking is hit or miss on the street. There are public lots nearby.

I really enjoy their tonkotsu ramen and the sea bass dish. Their sushi is fantastic as well. It's a shame that they only offer takeout.
Veggie Roman is yummy. Sushi is yummy. Shrimp shumai is yummy. Good drinks. Good service. Recommend visiting and dining in.
