Ordered a delivery, but as they were busy elected to pick it up to help ease pressure. When we got home there was 2 items missing. We rang to get them delivered to us. We got shouted down the phone by the manager saying that their driver was there. As we were standing outside the flat we knew that wasn't true. After 30 minutes of tooing and throwing we finally got a refund but only after having to go to the Chinese 3 times and having the driver out twice. Still with an incomplete order. We got shouted at over the phone, in a car park and in the Chinese by the manager. Would never go back and would advise no one else did either.
Having stumbled across Happy House a few weeks back I've dined in a couple of times and had takeaway once. The food has been excellent everytime. The food has been made (it would appear) with fresh ingredients every time and the sauces don't have that gluggy plastic taste of a few other local takeaways
Reply to Natalie B I'm shocked you are saying this about this restaurant. My husband and I have been coming to the Happy House for years the food is first class. We have tried many other chinese restaurant but you will never beat this one. Food, Staff and service First class.
I have been visiting happy house for years but will never order a take away again. I paid almost £30 for cold food which took almost 2 hours. Lovely food, just a shame about the service and the temperature. I was offered no apology apart from that it was busy

Happy House used to be the place to go, it really went down hill for a while and i stopped eating there,me and my girlfriend made an order for delivery today due to lack of a decent chinese in Grays, it was very good i`ll be ordering from here in future.
Been a while since last visited The Happy House but always a warm welcome from boss Ray Wong. Food and service very good with prices just being above average. It is the drinks that also push up the cost but still worth a visit.
Newly decor look nice, Food was average for a Chinese in this area. We had aromatic crispy duck like this one, it was good! The egg fried rice was fine, service was alright.
As a restaurant it is a bit expensive but very good and consider it worth it. They also provide a take-away service which is great and which I have used quite a few times.
