We both chose the senior specials, which feature smaller portions (though they were still quite generous) and include access to the salad bar. I really enjoyed the thousand island dressing and the bean salad. My husband mentioned that the cucumbers and onions were excellent. I ordered the fried chicken, which was cooked perfectly, along with seasoned red skin potatoes that were fried in chunks instead of boiled—there was enough to feed three people! Wow! I never knew about this please until recently and I feel like I have been missing out on something very special. Everything is from scratch. Their breakfast buffet is amazing! Great staff, prices, and the quality is amazing. The antiques and historical memorabilia are far more than just decor. They even have a few products from local offenders such as vinyl stickers, Maple syrup, and local honey. I have a large candy section which is always a big hit for the kids as we check out.
Charming Small Town Diner. This diner embodies everything that Cracker Barrel aspires to be. It’s conveniently situated right in the heart of Decatur, and it seems like just about everyone in town gathers there for breakfast on Saturday mornings, which makes the spacious dining area worthwhile. The service is incredibly friendly, and the breakfast offerings—like omelets, bacon, and pancakes—are all very satisfying. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood.
Generous portions at affordable prices! Every time I visit, it seems the menu expands. Their taco salads are delicious, and the omelets are large enough to serve at least two people. The weekend brunch buffet is fantastic, offering a variety of options from soups to pasta salads and a wide selection of breakfast dishes. I really enjoy this place and dine here frequently. I was in the area for work and found this place on my way out of town. Excellent food, prices, quality and staff. Nice little family restaurant where you can sit down and eat. I had a burger and fries since that was the daily lunch special that day. I dont remember the name of it, but it was huge and delicious, several to choose from.
Good food good prices wait staff is very friendly! I had breakfast the eggs were cooked perfectly over medium), hash brown's were like I make myself, maple flavored bacon and rye toast thin with caraway seeds, and it came with coffee, in a large carafe they bring to the table! Will definitely be back when I am in the area!
Always nice to go to a local restaurant. We enjoyed their great seafood buffet. Always a lot to choose from. You never leave hungry after a meal at Hardtimes! Staff is always friendly with a laid-back atmosphere. Great little restaurant in a great little town.
Amazing staff, that was very friendly and courteous! We got our coffee and juice within seconds of ordering it! The food came out very fast too, it was delicious and there was so much food! I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Fantastic restaurant! The food is fresh and served hot. The waitstaff are friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Everything tastes so fresh. They definitely deserve a 10-star rating!
The mushrooms were fabulous fried perfectly and hot at the table. The service was wonderful, even tho it was a later in the evening Tonya was super friendly and efficient
