I visited the Hero Sushi store for a family event. On arrival approx 6pm there was not a lot of variety of sushi on the carousel. Mainly the more traditional dishes ie salmon. The chicken and tuna sushi were falling apart, some did not have a cover and the portion sizes for the same items were very inconsistent. The variety and deep fried offerings started to circulate around 6:50pm.We ordered off the menu and the food arrived quite quickly although the portion sizes were disappointing ie the chicken karaage were six tiny portions. My order of a hot green tea was 'forgotten'. The service was inconsistent and we were left trying to get someone's attention to order further items off the menu.I ge...

So we have been a big fan of hero sushi all these while. Been going to their shops in sydney and newcastle. So when we stumbled across this shop in canberra we decided to fill our tummy there. At first everything seemed normal until it is time to order. We had to look out for the waitress to place our order. It wasnt a busy night but there was only one waitress working for a big place like that (as compared to other hero sushi). There is no soy sauce bowl for the customers too. Their sushi were so-so too as compared to their other branches but their soft shell crab hand roll was to die for. When it is time to pay we flip out our hero sushi card for point but wasnt able to. It was a awkward d...

I am disappointed with this restaurant, unfortunately. I love Japanese cuisine. It was before lunch, we were 2 people there only; don't wait for service, go and get a drink yourself, np, staff was looking more scared than tired/busy , all the meals were already on display ready for lunch. Only sashimi tasted fresh to me, the rest were like long ago pre done, the sauce dishes were dirty, chop sticks are all unpacked (how do I know how many people were touching them before me? or dropping before being served ?) There are many other food places you could enjoy, I found different sushi shop I loved. I am sorry "Hero" but even Sushi Train is fabulous in comparison with you.

Popped into Hero Sushi for a quick lunch whilst dining some errands in town. Hero Sushi offers a variety of Sushi meals that come past you on their mechanical Sushi train - see photo. Most seats are positioned around the Sushi chefs so you can watch them making each dish which usually tempts you to try what they've just made. The meals are fresh, good quality and most are priced at $3.50 p/dish. Really enjoyed the Wagyu beef Sushi. Book a table now

Dropped in whilst walking through Centre for a quick lunch. Quickly seated, but not well set: no soy bowls available, few wasabi/ginger satchels. Wet hand towels available which was nice. Food on conveyor nice but not a lot of variety so large gaps between variety. Reasonably priced & certainly a quick lunch

Ducked in for a quick lunch. All the sushi plates were very fresh and delicious. Saw the chef right in front preparing them. As they are all the same price at $3.50 it's easy to keep track of how much you spend. I had the eel, raw salmon, black rice prawn, and grilled salmon.

Great sushi, the train is massive though. You see the dish you like and need to wait 5 minutes for it to come around. That being said, the sushi is great and there are quite a few different varieties, including desert

Hero Sushi has some of the best sushi in town if you're after a quick lunch. The rolls are a good size and the price is reasonable. The salmon roll I had was so fresh you could really taste the salmon. Book a table now

This would have to be the worst Sushi train in CanberraHopefully the other Hero Sushi venues at Tuggeranong and Woden are better for service.
