We were here for a large ceremony, which was meant to include a sparkling wine reception, a three-course meal and dancing. The hotel is more attractive than other similar locations in Giessen. However, they seemed to be very understaffed and poorly organised.The staff didn't know about the wines on the menu (only 6 for this event to choose from) and didn't seem to know who to ask and had the excuse that they were new there, that might be the case but the wines we ended up having had an description of the back of them so she would have only had to look and tell us what they said, and at a restaurant of this level you expect at least one of the staff on hand to know about what they serve. We stayed at the hotel for a week this past summer. The rooms are gorgeous and modern (more so than what I've experienced at top Hotels in the U.S.) and very clean.The restaurant was superb. Really, some of the best cuisine I've ever had. I had squid (seriously delicious) with saffron, he had Irish Lamb. We drank a local sparkling wine that was fabulous. Breakfast was unbelievable. The most beautiful eggs with orange yolks and pink Himalayan sea salt. The cuisine at the restaurant goes way above expectations: it's healthy and unique. We only just live around the corner and always notice this restaurant is frequented by many customers outside of Giessen...many from Frankfurt.The waiter was superb and engaging as was the rest of the staff. The drink recommendations were always spot on and the 4 course meal I had (seafood theme) was just beautiful. My wife enjoyed hers the same.We feel very fortunate to have a restaurant with such high standards in Giessen and can imagine we'll frequent it more often now that we had a taste. Apparently the menu changes frequently so this is also a great sign of a top notch restaurant.We look forward to our next meal...
We took our Giessen, Germany hosts to this restaurant that we had read good reviews about as our thank you to them. They had not been there as yet. It was a fabulous dinner, exquisite flavors and tastes, beautifully served. Each of us were delighted with our meals. The service was impeccable but not intrusive, albeit a little on the slow side (which has been true more often than not in our whole European experience this time). It was expensive but appropriate for our purposes.

Very comfortable stay in an old meets new hotel. Comfortable room, great walk in shower. Plenty of hot water- be careful! Only complaint is decent amount of room noise on front of building. Restaurant is excellent- had wild boar one night, tuna tartare is amazing, potato soup with black truffles was really good.
Everything was superb - the food, the service and the decor. Not cheap but very high quality meal. We had no problem walking in without a reservation, admittedly on a Wednesday. Wish we had stayed at the hotel, next time my husband drags me to Leica I will insist!
Could not fault a thing, beautiful place, lovely staff, and the room was perfect. Every bit of food we had was amazing, all tastes were catered for and everybody there was commenting on how good the food was. One of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in too!
This was our second visit to Heyligenstaedt. As they did on the first visit, they amazed us again. The food was both creative and delicious. The service is both friendly and attentive. This restaurant stands way out in Gießen.

Former fabric transformed in to an elegant hotel/ restaurant. .The Chef cook is a regional celebrity. Definitely require a reservation. Prices for wine are high Excellent food and atmosphere but bring along the needed cash!
