Always fantastic and the only place in town with mutton! Had to stop and grab some carryout for a late lunch yesterday! Huge pork ribs that were fall off the bone tender, half a chicken and the only place in town that serves mutton! Potato salad was excellent sometimes it is made with too much mayo or mustard as were the baked beans. Seasoned very well with some bacon and bbq sauce ? . The coleslaw was made with vinegar instead of mayo my preference and some celery seeds added the perfect flavor punch earthy and grassy with a slight bitter edge. Don’t forget about this great local restaurant with World Championship winning BBQ! They were an Evansville Restaurant Week participating restaurant...
Ordered the Mutton plate and the fried mushrooms ...Ate the mushrooms on the way home YUM...and the horseradish sauce was deliciousMutton was probably the best I’ve had in a long time... very tender, sweet and loved the sauce also...they compliment each other very wellWill definitely be going back (Worked at Whirlpool there in 1978, we used to go to the Hickory Pit for lunch and they allowed us to cash our checks there)
Literal hole in the wall place by the baseball stadium. Dimly lit family joint.Ordered combination mutton and ribs. Didn’t know you can get mutton as a barbecue item but it was good.The ribs though was cold. First bite and the meat was cold. The good side is that it was really tender and falls off the bone. Guess they took it out of the warmer too early?
I went there today with a couple of friends and the food was horrible, the service wasn't any better, my friend got food that she couldn't eat ,so she ordered something else and they served it on a dirty tray instead of a clean one which is a health violation, then they overcharged her for the food that we got, we will never go there again.

Best BBQ joint in Evansville, hands down. And call me crazy, but I love the atmosphere.The best place to go for some perfectly smoked ribs and a beer after a day's work.
The half chicken is great the side tho is very small like a 2 or 3 Oz sauce cup is all you get of potatosalad. The BBQ sauce is good as
A dump. Ribs, dry. Sauce, putrid. Slaw, too sweet. Pork, watery with no flavor. Baked Beans, see sauce. A waste of $50.00.
Best rib place hands down the quality of meat is excellent and the place is warm and welcoming. The prices are decent!!!
