My family and I decided to try out a new lunch spot nearby after seeing it featured in an Instagram reel as a must-visit place. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite meet our expectations. We had to wait around 10 minutes just to get a menu, and the service was slow throughout our visit. My partner’s order was incorrect—they forgot to include the second piece of meat that was supposed to be on the menu, and the fries we received were just potato skins. The food here is simply fantastic, with many creative options on the menu. The owner and staff truly go above and beyond to ensure their customers have a great experience, and they are incredibly friendly. My 11-year-old twin grandchildren always choose to have breakfast at Hildebrandt's. The restaurant is very kid-friendly; the owner is very interactive with the children and gives them a little prize before they leave. My grandchildren particularly enjoy the various "old-fashioned" items on display, like a vintage phone booth.
After a dinner with friends, we were craving some ice cream, and my friend suggested Hildebrandt. The atmosphere is delightful and nostalgic, reminiscent of a classic ice cream parlor, complete with retro stools. The homemade ice cream is absolutely delicious, though the service was a tad on the slow side. We enjoyed our treats and had a lovely chat with the staff. I highly recommend Hildebrandt as a wonderful place to satisfy your sweet tooth after dinner!
Although I haven't tried the food at this restaurant, the ice cream alone earns a stellar 10 out of 5 stars. The ice cream and whipped cream are made in-house, and the hot fudge is thick and fresh. Simply put, it's delicious and stands up to any competitor I've been to.

What a great throwback to my youth. I grew up in Mineola and this was my first visit. I'm so sorry I didn't go sooner! Staff is very friendly and professional, and the food was great (grilled ham cheese with fries a hot fudge sundae). We willdefinitely be back!
You may be curious about why I rated this restaurant just 3 stars. The menu options didn't match the prices, which seemed deceptive. We ended up with a bill that was higher than we expected after we placed our order.
The food was decent. Most of the servers and staff were friendly and accommodating. The ice cream sundaes were fantastic, and they even offered smaller "shot" sundaes for those looking for a lighter option!
I absolutely love the burgers and ice cream here! I really hope they can remain in business for many years to come. Their butterscotch sauce for sundaes is the most delicious I’ve ever tasted!
