We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident while driving from Houston to Corpus Christi. My husband ordered a Hinze burger, which was unfortunately disappointing. The Bar B Q sauce had soaked into the bun, the meat was overcooked, and the onions were undercooked. I saved the burger by sharing some of my delicious meatloaf to put on it. For my lunch special, I had meatloaf with fried okra and blackeyed peas with ham bits. It tasted like it was made in someone's grandmother's kitchen - fresh and delicious. There is no place better to get down-home cooking. The seasoning, the breading, the quality is A . The menu offers a huge selection of food like Momma makes!! The 25 minute drive from Bay City is well worth the incredible meal and great service at this clean, comfortable restaurant! What a treat! On our way home from the coast, we stumbled upon this restaurant based on a billboard and we were not disappointed. My family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we would definitely visit again if we are in the area. The service, food, and atmosphere were all top-notch, with a rating of 5 for each category. The price per person for lunch was between $10 and $20.
