We had two meals at the Hippopotamus in Agen. The service was good and meal portions quite generous. Kids meals were spot on for out two kids who could not wait for a second visit. Steaks were highly rated by five out of six adults....One was disappointed that his steak was not very tender (it appeared to be a portion with a lot of sinew), but everyone that ordered the fillet was very complementary about the food. Dessert were generous and tasty. Worth a visit if you want a good steak at reasonable prices.
the reception is always friendly and professional. The dishes are rich, the caesar or Thai salad is to be preferred. among meats, tab or pan is very tender. if you want to cook at a point, ask for bleeding. Overall, meats are excellent qualities. the accompaniments are of quality, the small vegetables a little too fat. desserts are common but very good.
a medium welcome, fortunately a young blonde lady takes over after a somewhat lost server, really damage because there is potential, the kitchen is good on the other hand, the choice to cook respect but service time a little longer. short report quality price a little high, overall it is correct, some improvements would be welcome.
Choice of meals is very good. In particular if you like meat. They still have a few very good and huge salads as well. Staff is exceptionally friendly considering that you are in France. Definitely recommend. It is kids friendly as well and family oriented....Which makes the whole atmosphere very welcoming and informal.

great tasting eating and good service and very good value. the poulet is particularly good, as it is freshly cooked and delicate. the service is efficient, but do not arrive too early, as it can take a bit longer until it is organized. the staff is efficient and friendly.
If you are rushing your way three quarter an hour between the order and the service of the salad dish and you wait for the order of the dessert while a waitress with the side table otherwise the meat is always good
decent eating and reasonable service but this is fast kitchen wiht no frills but at a cold winter night with no much more about it it is satisfactory, but slightly expensive for what it is
