It's hard to pass to Takas when visiting the old Shanghai Food Court in Freo, but we decided to try the dumplings in this relatively new Hong Kong Eatery. With $ 4.50 - 5 US dollars Pro Sold we hoped for something special. Alas, no. The pork and mushroom dumplings were delicious, but the Shanghai dumplings hard and fad. The service was Schruquer, without a smile and lasted almost 20 minutes from our order (of only 3 things!) Go to the buzzer. As Thursday lunch, it was not all busy. What should be a quick snack that has been transformed into a longer time of foods, whereby the patrons of Takas patrons look in.

The seafood dumplings were likewise disappointing.
Service was brusque, without a smile and It took just over 20 minutes from taking our order (of only 3 things!) to the buzzer going off. Being a Thursday lunch time, it wasn't at all busy. What was meant to be a quick snack turned into an extended period of food envy watching the Taka's patrons tuck in.

I had never been in Old Shanghai in Fremantle before, but we were passing by so we dropped in. Old Shanghai is a collection of food joints, a bit like a food court but more interesting. You are almost certain to find something to tickle your tummy. Among other things, I especially liked the Vietnamese iced coffee, one of my favorite drinks, at Sweet Jane's. Old Shanghai is always busy, but you are likely to find somewhere to sit.

Chinese donut flour roll! It was a super amount of tasty Chinese flavour loving for the $5.50 it cost us.
possibly the best dimming sum I've ever eaten in perth, really great!
