Hot French Chix is a new addition to the already wonderful Chester restaurant scene. I was watching it as a place to try, and was finally lured in by a special they posted on Facebook. Every Wednesday, they offer a fried chicken banh mi with sweet potato chips and either a beer or glass of white wIne, all for $16. Hot French Chix offers a delightful ambiance with its cozy, candlelit atmosphere and charming antique decor. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and received attentive service throughout the evening. My husband and I began our dining experience with fresh bread accompanied by a homemade Boursin spread. The bread was delicious, but the cheese had an unexpectedly sweet flavor. I opted for the shrimp etouffee while he chose the General Tso's chicken. He found the chicken to be overly spicy, prompting him to order the duck poutine afterwards. The General Tso's dish included a surprising amount of Thai chiles, which felt out of place. Not overly impressed. We started with Jerk wings. They were covered in a thick jerk sauce. The sauce was OK, but the wings were drenched in the sauce, way too much. My husband and I both had the HFC fried chicken. Both of us agreed, a lot of batter and a small piece of chicken. Parts of the batter were a little doughy. The breading was bland and so was the chicken. One was ordered hot, one not and we really couldn't tell the difference. The best part was the Mac and cheese. Tons of it, good all the way around. I doubt I will go back. For what I paid, and I expected better.

Wow, nice addition to the downtown area in Chester. Small dining room and bar that offers eclectic decor and a little bit of history. Food was fantastic along with the service at the bar. Wine and beer only which is perfect for us and certainly reflective of the efficiency in service. Menu offers comfort food- no calorie counting here! Come hungry, big portions! Specials on Wednesday night. Parking can be a challenge on a busy night so seek the municipal lot up the hill when arriving.
HFC offers a truly delightful experience! The location is stunning, and the food and drinks are top-notch. If possible, I highly recommend sitting at the bar with Bob! The deviled eggs, HFC chicken paired with creole French macaroni and cheese, and the bourbon smash were all fantastic. Just a heads up—the hot sauce is quite spicy!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly charming, evoking a lovely French evening vibe. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the fusion menu offered a delightful variety of flavors. Overall, the food was delicious, but the standout was definitely the pomme frites, which were perfectly seasoned and absolutely exceptional.

I've visited this restaurant five times this month while working on our Airbnb at Millhouse Chester downtown. I absolutely love their Caesar salad, burgers, and hand-cut fries. Linda always has excellent wine recommendations, and the service is outstanding, thanks to Moreen's assistance. I also really enjoy the Hot French Chix!
