On my visit to Hot Star Eastwood I found the wonderful basil-y fragrance of the "chicken bites" ($6.5) and the aroma of the "crispy chicken bites" ($6.5) to be consistent with it's flagship store on Liverpool St in the city. The chicken is still wonderfully juicy, however the crunch of the batter isn't quite as strong. Still a nice Taiwanese style chicken option if you're way out west!
NB - Hot Star isn't fast food in the sense that the food is delivered to you ASAP. When you order you're given a ticket and you'll be waiting a minimum of five minutes before you get your chicken as they batter and deep fry on order. Expect a wait of up to fifteen minutes if Hot Star staff are busy.

Was always a bit confused with the idea of a huge chicken chop as a snack, but succumbed to trying one after walking behind someone eating one with the amazing aroma wafting back at me. It is seriously good!! Crispy out the outside whilst still moist on the inside, and so flavoursome. You can choose from 5 levels of spiciness- they apply chilli powder after it has been deep-fried. Must try.
This is my favorite fried chicken place. Always love this place for Taiwanese friend chicken. Crispy and tasteful! However, the acidic plum flavor has a bad aftertaste, but this will never order again. Other flavors are fine. Wait at least 7 minutes until chicken is ready to be ready. The staff are not always attentive, but it's a Takeaway shop anyway, can not expect much service.

Today we have saved it safely by ordering the pages of fried mushrooms and fried to perfection calamarically and flavored easily with chili, pepper and onion powder.
A huge chunk of fried chicken- so big, it's almost sickening for some. It's coated in a light but crispy breaking; with a Szechuan pepper type seasoning. A great meal for people on the go.
