Today I was served the worst food I have had for a long time. It was inedible. I tried two bites because I couldn 't believe how awful it was the first bite. It was supposed to be calamari, but was actual processed seafood. In France!!! I was served a glass of red wine that was purportedly the best glass of wine available by the glass. It was obvious that the wine had been opened at least day before. I suppose I should have been suspicious when the waiter did not offer a test and covered the label with his hand. Probably not the wine I ordered perhaps? France has fabulous food and fabulous wine. Sacre Blue! This restaurant failed. They did offer me another main meal, but at that point I thou...

After surveying the few restaurants at the port we chose this one as we liked the selection on the menu de jour at just 12.90 per person. Service was friendly and seats comfortable, plus we were able to sit in the shade on this hot lunchtime. We had salad de pot au feu to start, then braised beef cheek with dauphinois potatoes and white fish with mashed carrots. Really tasty and filling, so we couldn't face deserts which is a shame as there was cherry clafoutis which looked lovely (& only 15 euros for 3 courses). Definitely worth visiting for a great value lunch with good service if you are in the area.

We just needed a place to eat during the middle of a wine tour and found this on tripadvisor. It's definitely not eye catching. We opted for the 4 course wine and food pairing. You get a new glass of wine with every course for 60 euros. However, the biggest treat was the food. It was nothing short of delicious. The first three courses were a salmon salad, a fois gras and an amazing pork confit. Each of the wines went well with the course. The service on the whole was middling but on par for France. In short, it was a bit pricey but the food made it worth it.

Starters (pate and squid) and mains (we both had the lamb and white beans) were bland and did not live up to the expectations set by the general surrounds and snappy service. The beans were like white baked beans and the plate could have done with some potatoes. A glass of the local red was superb when served at room temperature, however when we ordered a bottle it was served straight from the fridge. Desert (chocolate tart) was very good. Overall we've had much better meals in France for much less money. Book a table now

We arrived as a group of 11, all be it on motorbikes! We were a group of 50 plus year old respectable people ready for a nice lunch. The owner couldn't have been ruder! The restaurant was 1/3rd full and we were told they were full. Went next door and had a wonderful sandwich at Maison Bellet! Highly recommended ! The food was great from the bakers and we sat and watched people turn up at the restaurant next door and get tables! Terrible service and if you are British or on a motorbike stay clear !

This little restaurant was amazing for the price! The setting was really pretty with pink and black accents. Even the waiters were wearing pink and black. The menu for 14 euros was excellent. We had a nice salad with goat cheese and duck meat. Then a ham dish with a gratin very moist. Finally a good panacotta or a choux with orange cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the price.

Stopped here on spec. and had a wonderful lunch. Very reasonably priced set menu, with well cooked and presented food. Excellent range of wines at reasonable prices, with some good vintages. Recommended place for lunch on the banks of The Gironde.

Super location. Off season price very low. Great staff. Rooms and bed are substandard as needing a desperate renovation to catch up. BUT, it's more than a fine for the price and the service. Will return. All is proper. Book a table now

We were there with two small, loudy kids but the stuff was really friendly. We enjoyed the food, it was delicious. Prices: 20€ for main dish and starter or dessert/ 25€ for three dishes menu
