We sat outside in the garden, even though we don't smoke. The wait staff was marvelous, and the food was great. I like hoppy beers, and was not familiar with the local brews. I let the waiter choose for me, and he did quite well. Not an IPA, not British Bitters, but we ARE in Austria. We added coffee and ice cream, and were quite happy with the whole experience. No negatives, until right at the end, a new arrival sat near us and lit a nasty pipe. Glad we were finished.
We have been to this restaurant for many years, but the prices have gone up to a level that we don't find acceptable and staff is very unfriendly. We now rather go somewhere else. Were not the only ones, because when we walk past we see less patrons than there used to be. It is a shame because they have a nice outdoor area and during summer they also have the local music clubs playing Austrian music.
The majority of our Group of 12 enjoyed their meal. However one of the fish dishes was clearly not fresh. Rather than a simple apology this prompted an outburst from our waiter. He then disappeared refusing to serve any of us. There did not appear to be any Management in the building despite being such a large Hotel. .
Had a lovely meal with friends, sampling the local fare, including Spätzle with local cheese and the ubiquitous Wiener Schnitzel for the meat eaters. The desserts were also lovely, for those that partook.
