We absolutely loved this restaurant, which was highly recommended to me by a friend in the service industry. The food is seasonal and straightforward, allowing the ingredients to truly shine, all within a charming neighborhood atmosphere that balances elegance and comfort—our favorite kind of place! We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious, but the standout was the grilled zucchini topped with stracciatella cheese, pistou, and what I believe was sauvignon blanc vinegar; pairing it with the flatbread was a great way to enjoy the flavorful sauce. Service was great, ambiance was lovely. But. The half chicken was poor quality. Skin on, felt like it was breaded, only a tiny bit of meat. Throttled with oils and salt to mask the lack of quality, and 28 for a dish with no sides. The meal was probably 100 calories before you consider the skin, the breading, and the excessive oils/salt/seasoning. Only after the unhealthy add-ons does it even begin to approach a satisfying meal. There is this movement of providing a tiny amount of food for your meal and then charging an insane amount of while still taking all the standard industry shortcuts to save on costs. First timers and our entire experience at Hyacinth was fabulous. We tried different house cocktails and five courses. Everything was delicious. Great atmosphere and staff.
