I take no pleasure in scoring such a low mark but when you end up walking out of a restaurant sadly 1 is all that you deserve. We had booked and on arrival were shown to a nice 2 table booth. The staff were pleasant enough especially the chap on duty. It took a few minutes to be handed a menu which was not really an issue but the restaurant was quite quiet. Ishka is simply amazing! The cosy stylish environment, the beautiful cocktails and the perfect food really was a highlight of our Wedding!! We had a small wedding at the castle and had our wedding breakfast at Ishka for 32. Claire and her team went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect, setting up beautifully, helping to pick our own menu and even setting up our cake for us! We decided on a package were we were welcomed with Prosecco and then had a three course meal with tea and coffee after. Ate here recently on a groupon which was given as a gift, we were warmly welcomed as we entered the restaurant and were offered whatever table we wanted as the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered soup and pulled pork rice balls and followed with burger and baked hake , the food was good and flavoursome , not sure if I’d rush back but wouldn’t dismiss returning in the future, a little gripe was that there wasn’t any alcohol free beer as I was driving I couldn’t drink alcohol, they stock harviestoun beer which have an excellent alcohol free beer , there are many others readily available in most restaurants.

This restaurant no longer exists. We booked a table online and got there to find it was gone, it is now a cocktail bar. The menu is available to view online, and it looks genuine. But is has long gone. Do not book,
Food was bland and could have been a lot tastier with attention to seasoning and prep. Staff spent more time chatting behind the bar with little attention to the few occupied tables. Very disappointing
We went on a Groupon deal. The food and the staff were exceptional. Not a pretty location but if you are in Edinburgh anyway it is a great place to eat and near Haymarket Station and its tram stop.
This hotel represents the look and feel one expects in Scotland! It's a great hotel in a great locationIt is part of the I-prefer group.
