I visited Passage to India with a friend on her recommendation. I often don’t go to the strip of restaurants opposite the Playhouse as they can be busy due to pre-theatre traffic but we went a little later to avoid most of this. From the outside the restaurant looks tiny bit it is a narrow, long dining space so there is plenty of room inside. I was delighted to see that chicken balti was on the menu so I couldn’t resist ordering it as it harked back to my university days when I first discovered curry. For my starter I ordered lamb chops. My dining companion for the evening went for hariyali chicken as a starter and chicken biriyani as a main. We couldn’t resist getting poppadoms and a pickle...
travel to india is a restaurant with very limited choices. there are very selected items in the restaurant. as an Indian I expected a little more from an Indian restaurant. but, as always, we ordered huh tikka masala, yellow dal, rice, king prawns, lamb chops ,keema naan and fish cutlet . all seafood were without doubt delicious. lammkoteletts were delicious. but, coming to keema naan and huhn tikka masala, tasted it sour and felt like its 2-3 days old or the material / ingredients used in preparing these dishes are old. In general, the food and the staff must also be improved.
I and my sister had a show to see in the playhouse and then convened for something to eat. best curry I ever tasted! had the chicken balti. I just called the chance of west yorkshire to stay overnight in edinburgh. so glad that we chose this place, nice eating, friendly attentive staff. if I'm ever back in Edinburgh, it'll be back
We went to this Indian restaurant after trying out Kalpna tuk tuk during our stay in Edinburgh and this was also a good one taste wise we ordered ala crate had enjoyed the food, service was slow...they took almost 30-40 mins to bring the food.

we were told by an Indian friend that passage to india was very authentic. we were not disappointed. the hotel is very close to our house, we were delighted.
best Indian food I ever had. the service was amazing and eating was even better. the bathrooms were clean. the butter chicken was my favorite chicken.
I made a curry tour through edinburgh while I was on vacation. I eat curry and spicy feed like nobody's business, I eat so hot that I literally have.
