Tantra Bar has a basic bar menu but with sufficient choices whilst the Ivory Restaurant steps it up a bit! The only issue with this area of the hotel is that the staff are expected to do both bar, room service etc and are not able to "work the bar" and build the reputation of what is a very inviting and comfortable area. This could be the local business Friday drinks if marketed correctly
When we arrived there was no one in the restaurant and we had to go to reception to ask if the restaurant was open. Once someone came we were seated and orders taken promptly. The dining room is rather strange - huge room with not many tables and limited decoration. However the food was very good and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered.
I had driven a long way and arrived at the Mantra quite late (after eight) and was too tired to go searching for a meal. I am glad I didn't bother. My pumpkin risotto was delicious and plentiful. The menu had plenty of choices and all sounded good. The service was excellent and the wait time was not long.
Small portion sizes (even the larger size options), over priced and a very limited menu. On one side of the room the lighting was good, on the other side (the window side) the lights were that dim it was a case of eating by feel as you couldn't see the food on your plate. Book a table now
Arriving after 8pm I was still able to order from the bar. I had the pumpkin risotto which was perfect comfort food for the end of a long travelling day. I noticed that the other meals all looked delicious and plentiful as well. The service was friendly and attentive.
We had two buffet breakfasts during our two night stay. The buffet was small but had the usual breakfast offerings such as bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, fruit yoghurt, pastries, bread, cold meats & cheese and pancakes. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Well cooked and presented meal and of a higher standard than I've come to expect from 'hotel' in-house restaurants. Pleasantly surprised and the staff were excellent. All up good value and would recommend for business dinners.
We ordered from the bar menu and both meals were delicious and delivered promptly. The dessert was the highlight - passion fruit creme brûlée with mango sorbet. The service was wonderful too. Book a table now
Stayed at the Mantra Parramatta a couple of weeks ago agony had breakfast in the Ivory restaurant every morning. Great food and lots of choice. Can't wait to go back.
