I was given a voucher for afternoon tea for a special birthday and this is why we went to the Ivy. We were made to feel welcome and ordered two glasses of wine to go with our sandwiches and cakes. We weren’t offered any selection of teas to have which we have had elsewhere only at the end after we had finished eating. This was a bit disappointing. The amount paid for the afternoon tea was very excessive for what we received. We have received better value elsewhere especially with the addition of service charge on the final bill. The setting in the Orangery however was very pleasant.
The service at this restaurant is excellent, with friendly staff. The food was delicious in some areas, but only average in others. The prices for beer and wine are quite high, which is a downside. The overall ambiance of the venue is nice, although our specific table was not the best.
The service was good as always, with friendly and helpful staff. However, we were disappointed that water was not served at the table despite our request. It's the small details that matter. The £94 bottle of champagne was brought to us quickly, but not the free water.
First time there, decor is fabulous (the ladies loo is well worth a visit despite the rather long walk! , staff very friendly, service excellent, food would have got a 5 star but for the creme brulee not being crispy on top. Good value too.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was charming, and the manager, Jason, was extremely attentive. He also suggested some unique cocktail options.
