On Aug 8th 2024, I went through the drive thru to get a Cat fish, grits, scrambles breakfast plate. The cashier told me to pull ahead for my total. Once I got to the drive thru the cashier hand me the book to total my receipts out $12.40, no tip was included. The next day I looked at my electronic statement and saw where I was charged a extra $6. So I went to the restaurant and spoke with the Manager on duty and he pulled the receipts from the day before and couldn't find mine. But he did offer me cash. Our first time here and not impressed. Food was fairly good vegetables were fresh. My husband got cheeseburger which was good fries could’ve been cooked more.They were kind of soggy. We came a little before 2 o’clock on a Saturday sat in the back of the Restaurant with just one other table. Our service was slow. Waiter seem to be in a hurry, although it wasn’t that busy. At the end we had to go find him to get our check and other waitress was too busy totaling up her receipts to help just not what we were really expecting not as friendly probably won’t be back. Me and my Business partner went there to eat NOT only the waitress hold her nose up at us she ask like she didn't want to serve us never check on us over charge us when we look at the bill I noticed she kept looking at me as if I knew she over charge me when I ask for the manager she really was watching never once smile or ask us was everything ok yes the manager changed the prices on both of our bill some people look at [who you are and treat you different you shouldn't have workers like this YES THE WORLD HAS CHANGE I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS WHAT HAPPEN AND WILL NEVER EVER RETURN KEEP YOUR SAME CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything was lacking in salt and seasoning, which I found surprising for a country-style restaurant. The collard greens didn’t even have any pork fat in them — I’ve never encountered plain collards before. The portion sizes were good, but I was really hoping for more flavor. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly.

Hadn't ate here in abt 8yrs or so with my Dad before he passed. Guess my memories were better because my Dad was with me. To be honest Sonny's BBQ is better in every way...servings, choice of sauces, etc. Food at JR's was ok but might be a while, if ever, I come back.
I found the experience a bit disappointing. The biscuits were tough and dry, and the grits were lacking in flavor. There was also no offer for a coffee refill. The building has an attractive appearance, but sadly, that’s where the positive aspects of the meal ended.
I had the meat with two sides. Tart bbq sauce. Food was well cooked and served hot. Ended up being $15 with sweet tea, no dessert. I'll be back to try other meats and sides.
Very mediocre bbq. Banana pudding tasted like it came out of a can. Sauce sucked. I won't be returning.
