We came here on a Sunday morning and the cafe was really busy with a lovely vibe. We where seated quickly and coffee orders taken. It took a long time for our coffees to be delivered and on drinking it, mine was bitter and really unpleasant, my husband ended up drinking it :/ I ordered the porridge as there is a picture of it on their website. what landed on my table was something else. It stated it came with rhubarb and stone fruit yet there was a small serving of compote berries, and some weirdly cut up cantaloupe and rockmelon on the other side.....weird and bland My husbands meal (Mexican benedict) was large and he stated it was tasty. Overall very average but will not be coming back.
A group of 6 of us had brunch today. Initial service when we got there was ok, and the food was also ok. However, we were then forgotten. Our dirty plates were left on the way table. Not second rounds of coffee were offered. Then how to pay the bill? No mention of no bill splitting, but they would not take 3 payments of $40 to pay for the bill. Very disappointing. The then rudely suggested that new time we try another cafe. Thank you for your suggestion. Next time we will.
First visit to Jake & The Beans Talk & had a great breakfast! Coffee was very nice, service fast & friendly.The place was busy on a Sunday morning, but they have a heated area out in their back garden, which was comfortable on a sunny winters morning.I will be back
Had the mushroom breakfast with poached eggs this morning and it was delishious. Vegetarian friendly and the coffee was great too. The service was fantastic as well as the ambience, warmth and heating of the venue. Perfect place for an any morning breakfast ????

A good coffeeshop in the suburbs of Melbourne. Large place, red brick wall painted in white. I gives you an idea of the decor! The waitress brought my espresso on a nice wooden tray with a glass of water. Crossant was very good. A 5 star coffee shop.
Malvern East needed a little cafe in this part of the neighbourhood. Loved my chicken risotto, Shiraz and real peppermint tea not made with a tea bag! Staff were friendly and cafe had perfect heating for a freezing cold Winter's day.
Despite appearing to be crowded, we found a couple of tables free inside, which was a relief after difficulty finding a carpark within reasonable distance. Extensive menu, excellent food and good friendly service.
Didn't know there was somewhere so close to work like this, Friendly staff, beautiful food and a huge rear courtyard. Had the smashed avo and my college had the corn fritter which we both enjoyed.

We sat outside in the courtyard on a sunny Melbourne winter's day. The young waiter was very attentive and the food was wonderful. Will go back again for sure.
When here for lunch and was not disappointed. Plenty to choice from and portions where a good size. Will be going back!
