Don’t judge a book by its cover. I found Jiang Nan Spring in Eater for a family/birthday get together for 11. The exterior could use some improvement, kinda worried me since it was our first visit. They had plenty of free parking which is nice these days. When you walk in, we were very impressed compared to exterior. simple yet elegant decor. It was like walking into a nice boutique hotel. As soon as we sat down the service staff was on it with tea and water, followed by drink orders. I took on the task of ordering. Thank goodness for those pictures because when you need to order for 11 it really helps with the decision making. It may seem tacky but all we care about is whether the food is g...

As I explored the menu, each dish seemed to invite me to explore the rich landscape of Jiang Nan cuisine. The servers, dressed in intriguing attire, moved gracefully through the dining area like culinary guides, ready to lead us on this exciting journey. With every bite, I felt I was uncovering a hidden treasure nestled within delicate dumpling wrappers. The harmonious fusion of flavors—sweet and savory, tender and crunchy—transported me to a realm where typical flavors simply didn’t exist. It was an extraordinary exploration of the balance between fresh greens, juicy meats, and luxurious sauces. Each bite was like a stroke of artistry on the canvas of my palate, creating a vivid picture o...
The decor here is not like your typical Chinese Restaurant. The food is good. Small things could make it better. Of the dishes we tried the Kung Pao Chicken and the Eggplant with Pork were the best. The fried fish fillet with seaweed was really good, but to me could greatly benefit from a nice light sauce maybe even on the side. We tried a soup dish that was recommended by an article in the LA Times and it was just ok. It had what looked like a noodle, but turned out to be a bean curd based thing. Definitely not going to order that one again. Not even sure if it’s on the menu. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
The tea roast duck was excellent! It was tender and chewy, with a perfect balance of crispiness. The thick Shanghai chow mein was fantastic and has definitely become a favorite of mine. The sautéed seasonal vegetables, specifically the water spinach, were great as well. However, the hot and sour soup was just average; it served its purpose but probably isn't something I'd order again. Overall, this is a solid place for Shanghainese and Sichuan cuisine. I would definitely recommend it! Book a table now
Came here numerous times and enjoy everything we ordered. My family's favorite are: Shanghainese baby pork ribs, seaweed fish, and clams. We also enjoy their Xiao Long baos, beef wraps, and Dongpo pork belly. The only thing we don't like is the fatness of the pork belly. Service here is great. Their staffs are helpful and attentive. Inside the restaurant is clean has lots of tables.
Delicious Chinese food and very friendly staff. Their food is light, not overly oily or salty, and authentic. All the dishes are well done Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
