We were part of a large group of 30 people who had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The views and atmosphere were fantastic, and the manager was very helpful and charming. We had made a reservation in advance and were informed that due to the small kitchen size and our large group all ordering from the menu, it would take some time to serve everyone. However, the meals came out steadily and everyone agreed that the wait was worth it. The menu had a good variety of options and the meals were excellent value. The only downside was that the coffees and drinks were a bit slow, likely due to the rush, and could have benefited from additional staff. Despite this, everyone enjoyed themselves a...
Having visited this establishment several times previously and having rated the restaurant as a must visit when touring Gippsland I was surprised by the quality of food served on a recent visit for lunch. The meals ordered took forever to be served; not due to huge demand we were the only patrons present. We were eventually served with what could only be described as "school tuck shop" fare. The white wine to to compliment the dish was served in a tumbler and tasted like vinegar. I have always been a huge fan of this lovely restaurant with its great country ambience and friendly staff, but unfortunately smiles, and views don't excuse the quality of the meals served or the price paid.
We had some difficulty locating the restaurant as it is now named "Jindivick Tavern". The building and decoration are charming, and the view is stunning! However, our dining experience was fairly average. We ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough for breakfast, which took a while to arrive, despite being the only customers at the time (we later heard that there were problems with the avocados, but it would have been nice to be informed of the delay). Our meal was mediocre, with the brie being the highlight and the cappuccino being underwhelming. However, our waitress was very friendly. Book a table now
Food very ordinary - chicken breast inedible, so tough. Could not be bothered to open a bottle of wine for us - waitress said 'I would have to take the rest home and it would give me a headache'. Really if it is on the drinks list - it should be available. Cost was exorbitant ($70) for two for a terrible lunch.
Go out of your way to get to Jindivick because this restaurant is worth it. The food is wonderful (I didn't know peas could taste that fresh!) and your hosts are lovely. The view is magnificent, the staff just adored our kids and we've had a great time on both our visits.
Such a delightful stop off for a late lunch on the first day of winter . Shared plate of calamari and enjoyed cider and local white wine while gazing over the rolling green hills to the south . Recommend Laurie Collins Sculpture Park too

Great food and a warm welcome. Great atmosphere in an old barn. We love to take our visitors up here for a lunch in the beautiful countryside.
