There were big tvs on the wall playing sports (on mute) which is a pro for some and a con for others. Would happily come back to try the veggie items we skipped. I want to start by saying I’ve always loved Jinsei and have eaten here plenty of times. Never a terrible experience until tonight. We could not get our waitress to come to our table for anything. Waited at least 30 minutes between drinks and she didn’t write down part of our dinner order so it did not arrive and she did not apologize when she realized what happened. My tempura rice cake with my tuna dish was also burnt on the bottom. Very disappointing for what is usually a good restaurant. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
Beautiful restaurant, awesome food, and friendly staff. Waits can be long, but for good reason. The sushi I've had here is among the best I've eaten, and their staff are very patient and helpful. Cocktail menu is diverse and tasteful and their wings are well-known in oxford. Pricey, but worth it. Surprised to find sushi of this level of sophistication and quality in Oxford Mississippi. Simple, elegant decor with an expansive trellised outdoor deck which offers more of a sports bar vibe. Jinsei is a must visit in Oxford, just make sure to arrive around 4:45 to stand in line. Food is authentic and delicious, the mango ginger mojito is a must, and you can never go wrong with Sake by the bottle. Every sushi roll hits every single time.
