Food was unexceptional but fine. Service stunk. The servers were very eager to take our order checking in with us multiple times within the first 5 minutes of our arrival to see if we were ready. Then the meal took a really long time to arrive. And our dishes arrived separately, even though there were only two in our party. And then the servers disappeared completely. They didn't check to see if everything was ok, no walk throughs, nothing. I really wanted more water but no one was available for over an hour (yes, really). We were a couple of the only people in there on a Friday night, which BLEW my mind. This is a gem, offering BYOB (no corkage fees and AMAZING food. We shared the Piti Soup and the Kutabi (thinly kneaded dough filled with meat, served with sumac spice . For my entree, I chose the Lamb Kebab and my boyfriend enjoyed the Beef Kebab. Both were spectacular...we were fighting over which was better. I hope this place sticks around because it was fabulous. The only recommendation I have for this place, is to maybe play some music so it's not so silent :
We ordered from this restaurant for Christmas lunch. I had the lulya kebab, while my brothers chose the chicken and lulya, as well as the lamb and lulya combo. The lamb lulya was lacking in seasoning, but the chicken was quite good. Overall, the meat was average, served on plain yellow rice with a dull side salad. I've had much better kabobs in the DC and northern Virginia area. Personally, I would rate this place 3 stars, but I'm giving it 4 because my brothers really enjoyed their meals.
From start to finish, kavkaz impressed both my wife and I. Walking in to the door of this quaint Azerbaijani eatery nestled into the row of associated chain restaurants, I enjoyed the smell of chargeilled meat and authentic atmosphere. The food was amazing. My wife usually doesn't like kabobs, but even she thought they were unbelievable. I highly recommend eating inside this little green instead of very out. There is something magical about eating meat minutes after it's of the grill.

The food was outstanding, and the service was even better! Our server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We started with khachapuri and Piti soup—both were fantastic choices! For our main course, we ordered the chicken and lamb combo. I'm usually a fan of lamb, but the chicken was absolutely one of the best I've ever tasted.
Couldn’t have been more impressed! The salmon and beef kabobs were delicious and perfectly cooked. The dushbara soup was fantastic. All the food was fresh and the service was outstanding. Our server, a nice young lady, was particularly sweet and attentive. The trek out from downtown Bmore was well worth it! Already planning a return visit…
I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. It was an awful dining experience overall. The food, atmosphere, service, and noise level were all quite poor. It was just a bad experience all around.
