Firstly, the onion rings were overly battered, making it difficult to taste the onion itself. Secondly, none of the dishes were pre-salted, which I understand—you can always add salt yourself. However, asking customers if they would like a little or a lot of salt could enhance the dining experience, especially for the fish, which definitely would benefit from a sprinkle.
Lastly, I was surprised that the fish didn’t come with lemon. Fish just isn’t the same without it! Perhaps I should have requested some. Went to Kelly’s roast beef in Medford today with my sisters. We got roast beef meals and a clam plate. We waited for the food to be served. However, when it got to the table, it was just lukewarm clams were okay. For $27 the clams should’ve been a lot better. Roast beef sandwiches were good french fries and onions were not hot. what is it with these places, why do they make food ahead of time and leave it sit there. The place was also not busy. It seems like most restaurants prices have gone up considerably and the quality of the food has gone down drastically. I think I’m gonna stop going out to eat and just make my own meals much cheaper and better tasting
Our cashier was pleasant and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. The Cajun Shrimp and fish plate were very tasty. And even though the clams were tasty as well, they were a little chewy.Their chowder was less to be desired, the potatoes seemed to not be fully cooked and was a very brothy/thin chowder, just wish it was a thick creamy chowder. On the plus side of the chowder, it was clam packed. Last but not least, their coleslaw is delicious!So all and all, not bad for this location.I grew up on Revere Beach near the original Kelly’s, they can be hit or miss too, when they’re open.
I know everything is ridiculously expensive right now but we ordered a clam roll plate for 21.50 and it literally had 4 clams 4 onion rings and a few fries. You can tell how small the plate is compared to the tartar sauce. The onion rings and tartar sauce are different now than they have been for the last 40 years too. I guess everyone is making things as cheaply as possible. So disappointing.

You need to change your hours of operation. You are not open to 11 o'clock at night. I've been there four times now at ten and you're closed please fix this
Always went to Kelly's for fried clams. They weren't as good as I remember. Looked like they were cooked in old .
The roast beef was too rare. Everything was excellent beyond that. Next time, I'll ask for it cooked more.
Fries Lil over cooked other Kelly's have serve ur self ketchup here you get ketchup packs no soda
