Finding somewhere for a coffee on a Sunday evening post 4.30pm that isn't a pub (and I've yet to find a pub with a decent coffee) outside of the biggest cities is a challenge. Having almost given up in Kidderminster town centre, passing the Severn...Valley Railway site I noticed some lights. Pulling up and going inside I found a pub and two cafes, one on the old station concourse and another inside the adjoining KIdderminster Railway Museum. The museum is a quirky collection of rail signage and old equipment, and the small cafe uses original station benches. The menu includes toasted tea cakes, chilli, and home made cakes. You know when it's good when you see railwaymen using this place rather than the company eatery. Apart from being in the excellent railway museum (free entry), it is a lovely and popular little cafe well worth a visit as is the museum...

Off the train from Bridgnorth. A quick pint, a filled bun and a pint and back in the train! Just what we needed.
