Today, my friend suggested going to experience Omakase's.. I've been here before with my family to experience the cooking of the previous chef Kevin Li Fu who is really amazing. I can feel his sincerity to the guests.. But tonight I don't know why there's a new chef. Tonight was a really bad experience… This chef feels rusty and unprofessional compared to the last one. Bad would under describe the experience here. I had read the bad reviews but had hoped for better. Service is terrible and food is not exceptional in any way Suki Zuki across the street wins hands down versus this place. It took hours to bring 2 simple rolls. I asked for the manager but no one showed up. I had to go to the bar to get soy sauce. Not worth the hassle. The stress of terrible service and mediocre food ruined the evening.
ambiance was pretty and server was nice. the hot plates that came out as appetizers were good too. we waited 90 min for sushi and it was $85 and underwhelming to say the least. the fish didn’t taste great, most of the table didn’t finish the plate. in return, they gave us some hot apps and sake bombs. most professional places would have offered to have something removed off the bill etc. would not recommend at all.
